The 100th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic will be commemorated in a display at The Potteries Museum that explores the links between Stoke-on-Trent and the ill fated vessel, which sank on its maiden voyage after hitting an iceberg.

Visitors following the museum’s Titanic Trail will learn about the ship’s captain, Hanley born Edward Smith, and find out about the most infamous disaster in British mercantile marine history.

The trail opens on Saturday, February 11th and closes on Monday, December 31st, 2012.
