On 17 November, 2011, the Waterways Trust held its last annual meeting before merging with the Canal & River Trust next year.
At the meeting, project workers from Glasgow, Birmingham, Burnley and the National Waterways Museum described how they are helping communities across Britain to discover canals and start to value their environment and heritage.
Since it was founded in 1999, the Trust has raised over £15 million for canal and river projects.
The Trust’s annual Review of Key Activities (2010/11) describes the work being done by the charity and its partners. The digital document, available online at www.thewaterwaystrust.org.uk, uses new technology so it can be easily viewed on smartphones and android devices as well as standard PCs.
