Another 15 towns are going to be given money from the government’s Portas Pilot scheme to revitalise their ailing town centres – but there are no Staffordshire towns among them.

The 15 towns getting the money are Ashford, Berwick, Braintree, Brighton, Hatfield, Royal Leamington Spa, Liverpool, the Waterloo area of central London, Forest Hill in south London, Tower Hamlets, Loughborough, Lowestoft, Morecambe, Rotherham and Tiverton.
