Scores of businessmen and women attended the city’s first Enterprise and Business Growth Summit in the King’s Hall, Stoke on June 19th to discuss ways of developing an enterprising culture in The Potteries.

Organised by Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the North Staffordshire Chamber, the meeting was attended by more than 80 representatives of companies and organisations in the city who were told how changing attitudes, creating a ‘database of opportunity’ and working together would help businesses to succeed.

Councillor Mark Meredith, cabinet member for economic development, said: “This is an exciting time and it’s clear we still have a lot of work to do but we have an enterprising spirit and culture which needs to be refined and built upon.”
