According to a recent Travelodge survey, the United Kingdom’s tourist industry will receive a £1.5 billion boost this year as more people decide not to travel abroad for their summer holiday.
Forty one percent of the 5,000 people questioned said they were planning a “staycation” and holidaying in the UK.
With the average cost of a week’s holiday being £433.47, this could give Britain’s tourist industry an income of £8.7 billion in 2012.
