Cromford Mill in the Derwent Valley
Discover the Derwent Valley World Heritage Site this autumn.
More than 160 events are planned for the valley’s Discovery Days Festival which starts on the weekend of October 27th and 28th with a wide range of activities ranging from walks and art exhibitions to theatre performances and dance demonstrations.
On October 31st – Halloween – the 1623 Theatre Company will perform Supernatural Shakespeare in Belper’s River Gardens.
Heritage walks and historical talks will take place on Saturday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 4th when visitors will be shown examples of the world’s earliest industrial housing.
The Festival ends on the 4th with a children’s torch–lit procession to Masson Mills.
