The Heritage Lottery Fund has launched a new £1 million grants programme called “All Our Stories” to support local groups who want to find out more about their area’s history.
Charities, community groups and local history societies in North Staffordshire can apply for grants of between £3,000 and £10,000 to support historical research and heritage based activities that will introduce local people to the history of the town or village where they live.
Funding is available for oral history projects and for visits to historic buildings, heritage parks, museums and industrial heritage sites.
“All Our Stories” has been developed to support the BBC’s The Great British Story – A People’s History that will be broadcast on BBC 2.
